Investors are becoming more confident in their outlook for the FTSE this year, according to Barclays Wealth .
It found that 44 per cent of its investors polled in December are bullish for 2010, compared to just 34 per cent in November.
However, uncertainty still remains, with 34 per cent still unsure of which direction the FTSE will head over the next 12 months.
Barbara-Ann King, head of investments at Barclays Stockbrokers, said: "Investors have faced, and still face going into 2010, unprecedented challenges throughout the economic crisis, but many are clearly using this as a chance to take advantage of opportunities."
A recent survey by the Investment Management Association also found improved confidence in the market, with an increasing number of people believing the FTSE will rise above 6,000 points within a year.
