Investing ethically is not just about leaving certain companies out of your portfolio, an expert has claimed.
Penny Shepherd, chief executive of UKSIF, the sustainable investment and finance association, explained that the range of ethical products available is now so diverse that there is always an option to suit.
"Green and ethical investment is fundamentally about making a positive choice around your investments," she commented.
Ms Shepherd added that it is easier than ever to find an ethical portfolio.
"There are an increasing number of financial advisors, both specialist financial advisors and more generalist advisors, that can advise on green and ethical investment," she observed.
The Investment Management Association claimed recently that net retail sales of ethical funds totalled £98 million in Q2 2010.
This figure is well above the average of the past four quarters and the highest sales figure since Q4 2007.
