Ethical investment funds win awards

Thu, 10 Sep 2009

The Ethical Investment Association's 2009 Transparency Awards has seen various funds walk away with a prize.

Axa Investment Managers, Henderson Global Investors, Insight Investment, and Jupiter Asset Management all picked up a gong at the ceremony, held at the CCLA Investment Management headquarters in London.

The awards recognise those ethical investment funds which excel in implementing the European SRI Transparency Guidelines, illustrating their efforts to remain green.

Robin Keyte, chair of the Ethical Investment Association, said: "Following the events of the last two years, an increasing range of investment clients are concluding that it makes sense to understand the impact of their investments on society and the environment."

Those putting their money into industries with a social conscience have been receiving a better growth of return from their ethical investments than FTSE 100-based funds over the last 12 months, according to recent research by financial website Moneyfacts.
