New best of breed funds offered to investors

Individual investors are to benefit from greater quality rather than greater quantity of funds under a new proposition being rolled out by Aegon.

Coming on the back of lengthy consultations with both individual and corporate investors, as well as with personal financial advisors, the company has announced the launch of a new range of 'best of breed funds '.

These funds have been handpicked according to the most commonplace needs of individual investors and are actively managed by experts in their appropriate fields, with Aegon pledging robust governance and ongoing monitoring for the duration of investments .

Announcing the development, Andy Marchant, the firm's life and pensions marketing director, explained: "We know that these days advisers want to spend more time advising clients and less time researching funds, so we've created two distinct fund ranges, one for individuals and one for corporate customers, each containing highly rated, hand-picked funds."

As well as choosing their own 'off the shelf' funds, individuals can also work with financial advisors to build up their own portfolios, the company confirmed.

Just last month, the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) reported that levels of confidence among investors in stock market funds are at their highest for more than three years right now.
