Those looking to take advantage of any upturn in the US economy through investments can now do so with a new product from Barclays Wealth .
Providing protection against market fluctuations while still offering returns based on the performance of the Standard and Poor's (S&P) 500 Index, investments from as little as £500 can be made with the second issue of the bank's US Supertracker.
Covering 75 per cent of the US market, any changes in the S&P 500 will result in four times the rise for all investments up to 90 per cent, meaning a 22.5 per cent increase will yield the full amount available.
Barbara-Ann King, head of investments at Barclays, said: "The US is the largest and arguably the most important developed geographical market - especially in light of the widely-held view that it will lead the recovery from recession."
Investment fund provider Cater Allen recently announced a new product which could lead to returns of up to 37 per cent based on the performance of the FTSE 100 .
