F&C's Ethical Bond Fund is an investment product which offers shelter from the crisis in the financial sector, according to the firm.
Rebecca Seabrook, manager of the investment product, explained that since its launch in October 2007 the returns on the account has been flat, compared to a -2.6 per cent return from its benchmark index.
The fact the investment product launched in volatile times means that it has been able to take advantage of good stock valuations, she said.
However, Ms Seabrook advised people to remain cautious for the time being at least.
"That said, valuations in the region remain attractive and the opportunity to add significant returns when the markets eventually turn should be huge," she stated.
Yesterday, JP Morgan Asset Management claimed that investment trusts could be a good choice for people looking for alternatives to savings accounts .
According to the firm, the products offer a steady income through dividend payments.
