HSBC has launched a new range of investment products aimed at giving customers greater access to a mix of asset classes.
The HSBC World Selection Portfolios offer people the chance to invest in a range of asset products from across the globe.
People's money will be invested in both bonds and equities, as well as modern derivatives such as commodities and private equity .
David Wells, head of investments, pensions and savings at the bank, said: "The steep declines in stock markets over 2008 have been a painful reminder of the risks inherent with putting all of your investment eggs in the one basket."
This investment product should help people avoid these risks due to its diverse nature, he added.
Yesterday, Gartmore revealed that its SICAV Latin American investment fund was dubbed the best in its asset class over the last three years at the recent Lipper Spain awards, held in Madrid.
