A leading food company is one of the most attractive investments on offer at the moment, it has been claimed.
Roger Guy and Guillaume Rambourg, co-manager of two Gartmore investment funds, believe that Nestle is a firm to watch.
They said: "In our view, with strong revenue growth and continued margin improvements, Nestle remains one of the best investments in the food sector.
"Correctly assessing shifts in consumer behaviour as well as commodity prices has also enabled Nestle to strategically position itself ahead of its rivals."
The pair added that the firm appears to be gearing up for some high-profile acquisitions, something which could boost its position even further and increase the return on people's investments .
Profits at Nestle have "soared" over the past few quarters, they concluded.
Last week, Angus Rigby of TD Waterhouse claimed that oil and gas-based investments are continuing to perform well despite the slowing economy.
